While you’re diligently using the moisturizing body washes and having hydrating facials as part of your anti-aging program, you can give your body an assist by making these 5 foods a part of your daily food plan, and thus a part of your daily skin care program.
1. Water. Of course we all know that the very best way to keep our skin hydrated is to drink lots of water.
The human body is made up of 60% water which is important for circulation, delivering nutrients to skin cells, plumping up skin cells, and helping skin appear firmer.
Make it special by drinking water from beautiful glasses, and adding a slice of lemon for refreshing flavor, or dropping in a few berries for a splash of color.
2. Avocados. This yummy fruit is a wonderful source of Vitamins C and E, and of monosaturated fats (the good kind of fats) which helps lock in moisture and promotes the skin’s elasticity.
3. Fish. Oily fish such as salmon, herring, mackerel, sardines and rainbow trout are amazing for your skin. These fish contain Omega-3s which strengthen skin cells and help protect skin from sun damage.
The selenium helps preserve elastin, making your skin stay supple, smooth, and tight.
4. Orange Vegetables. Vegetables that have an orange color, such as carrots and yams, contain beta-carotene, an antioxidant that fights dry skin, and also protects the skin from sun damage and harmful environmental pollutants.
These vegetables also contain Vitamins A and C which help repair body tissues and produce collagen, good for skin tightening.
5. Extra Virgin Olive Oil. Working from both the inside, when eaten, and the outside, when applied topically, olive oil contains Vitamin E and good fats which moisturize the skin. Olive oil also does wonders for hair and nails.
As long as you are going to eat, anyway, you might as well make sure you are getting the foods that can best help you have beautiful skin!
